A Typical Toastmasters Meeting

All Toastmasters meetings are a little different. Here’s an example of a typical meeting at Seattle Sunrise Toastmasters:

7:15 – 7:30–Members arrive. Some get breakfast or coffee from the cafe.
7:30 – 7:35–The President calls the meeting to order, welcomes guests, and introduces the member who will lead the day’s meeting.
7:35 – 7:40–The Toastmaster for the meeting introduces a few members who will be performing special roles for the meeting.
7:40 – 8:20–Four members present a speech they have prepared for the meeting.
8:20 – 8:30–The Table Topics Master leads an extemporaneous speaking exercise. Guests are invited to participate.
8:30 – 8:45–Four members deliver an oral evaluation of the prepared speeches.
8:45 – 8:50–One member delivers an oral evaluation of the meeting’s leader and the speech evaluators.
8:50 – 8:55–The Toastmaster closes the meeting
8:55 – 9:00–The club president asks for guest feedback and presents any announcements.
